COMPANY PROFILE

The Company, founded in 1953, has been operating in and expanding geographical and highly specialized markets for the past six decades. Originally the company specialized in mineral exploration and in the earth science fields and now various specialized drilling services.

In 1984 a Subsidiary Company, Logan Geotech Inc., was established to specialize in all aspects of geotechnical investigation drilling and sampling, hydrogeological and geothermal testing as well as environmental assessment and waste management testing and drilling. In the same year, an additional subsidiary, Logan Offshore Inc., was established to provide offshore geotechnical drilling services to the Eastern Canada petroleum exploration industry.

In 2000 a Subsidiary Company, Logan USA, was established to provide and specialize in mud-rotary and industrial mineral exploration drilling in the South Eastern United States. Since then, it has expanded into the Gold Exploration market in the Western United States.

In 2010 a Subsidiary Company, Logan Drilling Colombia SAS was established in Medellin, Colombia to provide exploration core drilling and geotechnical investigations drilling. We use state of the art, lightweight, aluminum track - mounted drills with specialized geotechnical drilling tools.

In 2013, Logan Geotech Inc, expanded geographically, with the purchase of a Moncton, New Brunswick branch, servicing New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario.

Our business capabilities are multi-dimensional. We provide all sizes of wireline diamond core drilling, slim hole oil and gas samples, with hole depth capacity to 2800 meters and both surface and underground drilling operations, as well as coal and salt drilling. We excel in geotechnical, environmental and marine drilling and testing. We serve engineering and environmental consulting companies, as well as various government departments. Finally, we provide an expertise in clay and mud rotary core drilling and specialized grout injection drilling services.

President | Logan Drilling Group International

Following the completion of his Geology Degree at Mount Allison University and a Marketing and Accounting Diploma from Dalhousie University, at the age of 48, Steve has more than 29 years’ experience in Mineral Explorations, and Geotechnical and Environmental Drilling. He has scaled the positions of the company from working directly on the platform to assuming the position of President in the year 2012. This has allowed him to fully understand all aspects of the drilling business from operations management to finance.

Recently he has expanded the company by creating a South American subsidiary in 2010. Also an African subsidiary is underway and will be incorporated in 2013. Steven has been the driving force for the company’s growth in recent years. He takes special care and pride in all aspects of the company from the ground up, and his leadership has taken the company to be one of the most recognized names in the quality drilling service industry. Steve is known for his aggressive approach towards expanding markets and for enjoying the relationships of the close friends and colleagues he has met throughout the industry.

Controller

During Evangeline’s Career, she has been involved with all aspects of risk management. She is experienced in accounting for operations in Canada, the United States, Colombia and Europe. During her career she has specialized in cost accounting, and corporate accounting, information technology, and has worked in a diverse international environment.

She graduated from St. Mary’s University in 1994, with a double major in Accounting and Finance. Pursuant to that, she completed her CMA in 1998.

She is currently a Member in Good Standing, CMA Nova Scotia

Logan Drilling Group

In his career, Starsky has been involved in the drilling industry as a driller, a foreman, and as a project manager. He has gained knowledge and experience in many different types of drilling all over the world. He has vast experience on Longyear 38, 44, 50 & 55 drills, extensive experience on Duralite 800, Duralite 1000, Acker and CME Drills.

Starsky has safely and efficiently executed numerous specialized drilling jobs: core sampling, mud rotary, reverse circulation, underground exploration, slim-hole oil and gas exploration, fly jobs, grouting, rock anchor, and post tension testing. He has operated various Geotechnical and Environmental drills under many adverse conditions: drilling on ice, in permafrost conditions, and open sea barge drilling.

Starsky Young is a veteran of Logan Drilling, starting with the company in 1996, he began as a drillers helper. His mechanical ability and excellence in customer satisfaction, promoted Starsky through the ranks, as helper, driller, foreman, and regional manager, to his eventual appointment as Operations Manager. Throughout Starsky’s career he has acquired a long list of Drilling Certificates and Safety Courses: Common Core Trained, CSA Safety Supervisor, First Line Blow Out Prevention. He has made customer and employee satisfaction a top priority and has been instrumental in the safe and environmentally friendly operations of the Logan Drilling Group.

Branch Manager Logan Geotech Inc.

In his career, Matthew has been involved in the drilling industry as a driller, a foreman, a safety supervisor, and as a project manager. He has gained knowledge and experience in many different types of drilling all over the world. Having drilled in Greenland, Yemen, Colombia and throughout the United States and Canada, he has managed a vast variety of projects and clients.

Matthew’s experience in operating and maintaining drills, and later Project Management, includes mineral exploration drilling, underground exploration, slim-hole oil and gas exploration, geotechnical and environmental drilling. In addition he has extensive knowledge of mud rotary and long hole pneumatic production drilling.

Throughout Matthew’s career he has acquired a long list of Drilling Certificates and Safety Courses: Common Core Trained, CSA Safety Supervisor, First Line Blow Out Prevention. He has made customer and employee satisfaction a top priority and has been instrumental in the safe and environmentally friendly operations of the Logan Drilling Group.

Operations Manager | Logan Drilling USA

Born in Jesup, Georgia, and graduated from Americus High School, Tom Ireland is the Operations Manager for Logan Drilling USA, located in Tennille, Georgia. Tom has over 27 years’ experience operating and maintaining drilling rigs including Down Hole Hammer, Mud Rotary and Diamond Drill, as well as fabrication of core bits & Core barrels. In addition, Tom has extensive experience in Warehouse Operations, Field Operations and working with Client Representatives.

Since starting with Logan Drilling in 2004, Kevin worked his way from drill helper, driller, foreman, and project manager to Assistant Contract Manager. He has operated mineral exploration, geotechnical, percussive, and mud rotary drills while focusing on client service. The majority of Kevin’s 11 years of hard work and experience have been spent in the United States division of the Logan Group, Logan Drilling USA.

Kevin comes with a comprehensive knowledge of operations and a desire to face new challenges. He has gained specific knowledge of the specialized coring systems and drilling fluids for gaining maximum recovery in unconsolidated ground formations, which has proved to be a major asset to Logan’s USA team and in addition helped by teaching junior drillers as far as Colombia, South America to maximize core recovery. Kevin has a high expectation of safety directly reflected in him as a member of the Logan Group safety committee.

Logan Drilling Group

Over the last ten years Kevin has worked through the ranks of the drilling industry. He has gained vast experience in all aspect of geotechnical and environmental drilling. Kevin has also held various position overseas, most recently working as a project manager for geotechnical and exploration program in Liberia Africa.

Since 2014, Kevin has taken on the role of branch manager for our branch in New Brunswick and has subsequently taken on the business development for Logan Drilling. He is currently leading the charge in our expansion of Forage Logan into Quebec.

Over the last five years Erika has work through various position in the drilling industry which has helped her become a strong component of our health and safety program.

Erika obtained a teaching degree at Crandall University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Mount Allison University. She is currently continuing her studied in health and safety through the University of New Brunswick’s Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.

Erika has worked very hard developing and raising the standard of our health and safety program which is now becoming recognized and expected by our clients.

Public Accountant | Logan Drilling Colombia

Claudia Castañeda holds an accounting degree from Medellin University, she has post graduate studies in Fiscal Auditing with 14 years experience in financial and accounting management of companies in the commercial and service sectors. She has emphasized in the creation of processes that optimize company resources and the adequate functioning of the financial area through the structuring of IT programs. She is trustworthy, loyal and very professional in her day to day activities and her background and education allow her to follow the continuous changes in government regulations in order to comply with all the latest legal requirements present in Colombia.
